There are so many opportunities for improving writing through online tools I thought it would be helpful to bring some of these together in a series of posts. These are based on the presentation that I gave at the BETT Show earlier this year.

We had a fantastic time at BETT over the past few days, meeting customers old and new, shocasing our new features and introducing new products. Read on to find out what you missed.

Learning platforms have gone through a whirlwind of change over the last 5 years with a wealth of new functionality and features being made available to schools but is that enough? We can all be wowed, from time to time by exciting features but what makes the difference is the effectiveness of it and the value it adds to your school’s teaching and learning.

In our current economic climate Local Authorities are having to make all kinds of reductions to the support many schools have relied on in the past.  A significant number of LAs have had to make substantial cutbacks in areas such as curriculum link advisors that used to go in and support teachers and the curriculum. Our schools are seeing online collaboration between their clusters as even more important now as a way to share good practice and support each other in areas of school improvement and across the curriculum.

How is your online presence looking? Is it a while since you've had an inspection visit? Will the inspectors get the first impression that really reflects your school?

Christmas preparations may be well underway, but here at the UniServity offices we’re looking ahead to January and our preparations for BETT 2013.

Sacred Heart RC Primary School in Bolton has been celebrating. Ben Tipton, Leader of Connected Learning and Standards, won the 2012 Pearson Award for Outstanding Use of Technology in Education in the North.
