Building Brighter Futures

Two of the biggest names in education, UniServity and Pearson Education, build a brighter future for learners with a unique partnership.

It is a common phrase that 'two heads are better than one'. With this philosophy in mind, Pearson Education, the world's best known education product supplier, approached UniServity, the world's most popular learning platform provider with a view in mind to produce what is being talked about as one of the most anticipated collaborative learning platform tools for 2006/07.

The Pearson Learning Platform, powered by UniServity, has been in development for seven years and is expected, like the UniServity Connected Learning Community, to be a firm favourite with educationalists’ worldwide. This unique learning platform, which will be available from January 10 2007 at BETT, fuses the success of both companies and builds upon the Government’s idea of building brighter futures for learners by providing the best products and technologies available.

A great partnership
Labelled as the 'innovative thinkers' in learning platform solutions, UniServity the only specialist learning platform provider in the UK, continues its success by, as Alan Wood, managing director of UniServity commented: "Thinking beyond today’s needs" He continued "We re-evaluate our learning platform in-line with the wants and needs of our users which currently total more than one million.

"Being an open company we consistently like to discuss ideas with innovators which this time has led to the partnership we have formed with Pearson Education. This partnership is designed to provide Pearson Education with its own learning platform powered by our technology.

"By collaborating with Pearson Education we hope to offer educationalists a solution which, like our own learning platform the 'UniServity Connected Learning Community (CLC)', will facilitate the most creative type of teaching and learning."

With decades of experience and a name that exceeds it reputation, Pearson Education is the world’s number one in education. Ken Williams, general manager,

Pearson Phoenix said: "We are very excited by this partnership. It will help teachers and learners experience the true potential of a managed learning environment, where student data can be seamlessly integrated with learner management and curriculum content. Because this approach is fully web hosted, it can also deliver the full vision of 'anywhere, anytime access' and substantially drive down the implementation and support costs for a school or local authority. We’re delighted with the accreditation and the added reach this product brings to our portfolio."

Unveiled on stand E70 on Wednesday 10 January at BETT 2007, visitors will see first sight of the Pearson Learning Platform powered by UniServity and also get the chance to listen to Alan Wood and Ken Williams talk about this unique product and partnership.

UniServity will also be on stand J15 to talk to visitors and demonstrate how to use a learning platform and how to break down the distinctions between formal and informal learning.
